Basic woodworking skills



Come and join us for this six-week block of Basic Woodworking Classes.
This is a beginners level class where you will learn the fundamentals of woodworking by making simple projects and gain the skills and confidence to undertake some woodworking on your own.
We will be using mainly hand tools with some battery tools to save time. 
Tools and materials will be supplied.

Course Content:

Safety basics.
Tools
Materials
Principles
​Fasteners and glues.
Simple Joints.
Construction of simple project
​Finishing options.



​The projects will aim to be useful and take-home.

This is a hands on workshop  - with a little theory.
Our aim is that you should leave with the knowledge and confidence to make things yourself.
​
No prior knowledge necessary.
Unfortunately, this workshop is not suitable for children.

​
Trainer:
Grant Pirnie - Engineer and woodworker.

Grant has a background in engineering and runs his own woodwork business  - when he's not running training workshops.
